The world is rich in diversities, even in small pieces of the people’s lives, that is personality. Every person has his/her personality which has differences and similarities to each other. In psychological theory, the personality can be divided into four types, namely choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic, and melancholic.
The children with choleric personalities are well-known for their firmness and strong demand for ideality. They have strong energy to face difficult things through strong motivation toward their ability. Those who are born with this personality believe that they will be leaders in the future. It can be seen through their initiation to be front liners in every activity or game. In addition, they can think quickly and accurately which is followed by high risk-taking capability. Hyperactive can be labeled for those who have this type of personality. For them, silence is considered a mushy, cowardly, and discouraging attitude.
The sanguine personality is well-recognized through the children who have a high aptitude for communication. In multiple intelligences, it is called linguistic skills. Through their communication skills, they are very easy to influence their friends. As opposed to choleric personalities, the children with sanguine personalities are tended to be followers than be leaders. Even though, they are good at giving a good impression to their friends. When they are not in class, their friends are commonly asking for their attendance as their aptitude to fill the emptiness of the class. Overall, they like to be in the ‘limelight’ and important figures among their friends.
In general, children with phlegmatic personalities are tended to be shy and neutral. On the one side, they like to spend their time with friends. On another side, they do not happy with conflicts and radical changes. Therefore, in every discussion, they tend to say agree than give new different ideas. This attitude shows that they are very neutral because of their reluctance to offend others. Different from sanguine personalities, they do not like to talk much. They prefer to be silent and keep their feeling or others’ secrets. Unfortunately, they are easy to be influenced by other children even the decision will disserve them.
The last type of personality is well-known as melancholic. The children with this personality are commonly serious, introverted, clever, and critical. Their high precision makes them very curious to see something more deeply. They usually analyze every fact with a high level of accuracy. In their sight, success can be determined from a plan. There is no failure for them except the failed arrangement. Their disciplines always take them to obey all the rules. It is hoped not only for them but also for other people with different personalities. This attitude is brought by their consistency to follow anything based on the rules.
The children's diversity in their personalities as explained is unique, isn't it? They have their precious path and pace to reach their own goals.
